A grand day was had by all. Or to be precise, a two-grand day, since the event, a charity fashion show in Grangemouth, raised over two thousand pounds.
150 people attended a lunch and were treated to a fashion show by Innovations of Perth, in the Lea Park Hotel on 2nd November.
The host for the evening was Falkirk East MSP and Grangemouth resident, Cathy Peattie.
“I’m really pleased that the show did so well. The £2,026 is going to Dial-a-Journey, who provide community transport throughout Forth Valley, for journeys where people can’t access public transport.
“I think Dial-a-Journey should be covered by the concessionary travel scheme, and have called for this in the Scottish Parliament, but at the moment they rely on local funding, fares and fund-raising, so events like this are an important means of support for the service.”
In addition to the fashion show, the event included a raffle and envelope draw, featuring a weekend break for two, meals for two from a range of restaurants, and items donated by a local picture framing company.
Event organiser Anne Lowe joined Cathy in thanking “all those who contributed to and attended the event, making the show such a great success.”
