Falkirk East MSP Cathy Peattie has condemned the Scottish Government for giving the NHS a below inflation spending increase.
“At just 2.85% in Forth Valley, and 2.66% for Scotland as a whole, next year’s historically low allocations represent a real terms cut for much of Scotland, putting pressure on both staff and services.
“The Scottish Government is allowing the NHS in Scotland to fall behind the rest of the UK – in England, the NHS has received a significantly higher overall increase of 4 per cent.
“Health Boards will be forced to cut staff numbers and find savings from frontline services. Nicola Sturgeon should tell us why she believes health is less of a priority in Scotland.”
